  • MOMMY & ME

    Toddlers loved ones have fun and engage with their children through dance, playful physical contact. Designed to inspire movement through observation, dance and creative exploration. This introduction to dance is made easier for your toddler by having you by their side. This makes dance not so scary to your little one this first year.

    Classes offered for ages 2&3

    **even though this is called mommy and me, it doesn’t have to be mommy who takes the class with the child. Just someone they love and whom they are comfortable with (grandparents, dads, babysitters, ect)

  • PRE-K COMBO CLASSES

    In this class we will skip, gallop and leap... stretch, crawl, wiggle and giggle. The dancers will learn basic tap dance, which is a wonderful activity to nurture a sense of rhythm and timing. We introduce and teach basic ballet positions and movements. A portion of this preschool class also allows the dancers to be able to freely experience their own moving body and find joy in dancing. This preschool dance class is a wonderful introduction for the young student to a basic classroom structure in a fun and nurturing environment

    Class offered for Ages 3-4

  • KINDER COMBO CLASS

    This is a perfect combination class for our young beginner dancers. Ballet training promotes coordination, balance, correct body alignment and grace. Tap dancing develops a keen sense of rhythm, timing and musical awareness. This class is a fun and well-rounded introduction to dance for young students.

    Class for ages 5-6. Students can add-on a jazz class with this combination class.

  • BALLET

    Ballet is the foundation of many dance forms and will maximize technique and longevity in dance. It provides grace, poise, and technique needed to be proficient in all other areas of dance. Ballet classes will help dancers with posture, flexibility, fitness, balance, self-discipline, and self-confidence.

    Strech, strength and conditioning recommended.

  • PRE-POINTE / POINTE

    Dancing on pointe is the act of standing on the tips of the toes while performing steps from ballet. Also known as pointe work, it is performed using hard–toed and stiff-shanked pointe shoes. Dancing on pointe requires strength and skill, so prior permission from instructor is required before students begin taking pointe classes. Pre-pointe class is dedicated to teaching pointe fundamentals to students of the appropriate age and technical ability. Because of the risk of injury, students must be physically ready. One complete dance year of pre-pointe and a pointe evaluation is required before advancement to pointe class. The pointe evaluation allows teachers and students the opportunity to see where the student needs work in order to prepare for pointe. The evaluation focuses on legs (straightness and strength), feet (flexibility, strength, alignment, and shape), ankles (strength and straightness), and overall body alignment.

    For the Pre-Pointe and Pointe class, students must be taking a weekly ballet class at Icon Dance. Must have 4 or more consecutive years of ballet training to be evaluated. Stretch, Strength and Conditioning class HIGHLY recommended.

  • LYRICAL/CONTEMPORARY

    Expressive dance forms combining ballet, jazz and modern technique. Our lyrical/contemporary classes are for dancers who like physical activity, complicated choreography, and self-expression. Dancers will utilize their technique while learning choreography and developing their own personal style and expression, which will enhance their overall performance. Elements of improvisation are also introduced.

    To take Lyrical/Contemporary classes, students must be enrolled in at least one other class at Icon Dance. Stretch, Strength and Conditioning class recommended.

  • JAZZ

    Jazz is a fun, high-energy dance form that develops technique, rhythm and style while building strength, flexibility and body awareness. Jazz dance includes strength, flexibility and conditioning technique and progressions including turns, kicks and leaps. In a Jazz class the dancers also learn many fun and trendy dance steps that are used for all forms of dance.

    To take Jazz, students must be enrolled in at least one other class at Icon Dance. Stretch, Strength and Conditioning class recommended.

    Classes available for grades Kinder to 12th

  • TAP

    Tap is an audible art form in which dancers create sounds with their feet. This class covers rhythm, coordination, timing and proper tap technique. Students will learn about musical timing and to how to unite Their feet, arms, and body to the beat the music.

    Stretch, Strength and Conditioning class recommended.

  • HIP HOP FUNK

    Hip Hop Funk is a combination class that fuses Hip Hop with Jazz. It is expressive and primarily focuses on choreography and style. Hip Hop Funk is a fun and high energy class for kids who want to learn some of the most popular dance moves! Dancers will learn fun, age appropriate choreography!

    Stretch, Strength and Conditioning class recommended.

    Classes available for Pre-K (age 3) to 12th grade

  • DRILL TEAM TECHNIQUE

    This class is for those individuals who would like to try out for local school drill teams. It will focus on the skills required for most try outs to make sure your dancer is prepared from a young age to make the drill team in either Middle/Intermediate School or High School. These dancers will have a leading edge over those who have just taken one prep class near audition time.

    Stretch, Strength and Conditioning class recommended.

    Classes offered for grades 4th to 12th

  • ACRO

    Acro/Tumble classes are for the innate tumbler in every child. These classes develop flexibility, control, strength, and motor skills. Class skills include but are not limited to: Forwards Rolls, Backward Rolls, Bridges, Walkovers, Handstands, Elbow Stands, Chin Stands, Cartwheels, Round-Off's, Handsprings, Ariels & More. Acro/Tumble classes are a great addition to our dance classes for dancers wishing to become more well-rounded.

    Stretch, Strength and Conditioning class HIGHLY recommended.

    Classes offered for grades Pre-k to 12th

  • STRETCH, STRENGTH, and CONDITIONING

    A perfect combination of flexibility and conditioning to aide and assist dancers in gaining full body strength and flexibility necessary for all dance styles. Pairs perfectly with Leaps, Turns, Kicks and Tricks.

    To take SSC students must be enrolled in at least one dance class at Icon Dance.
